Nebraska lands stud wide receiver in the portal

Originally posted on Corn Nation.

The holiday cheer continued for the Nebraska Cornhuskers with the addition of Dane Key from Kentucky who followed his position coach Daikiel Shorts to the land of corn. Key is a big-bodied receiver at 6-3 210lbs and some awe-inspiring numbers at Kentucky considering their struggles in the SEC. He had 751 receiving yards off 47 catches this past season which is impressive considering the talent in the SEC.

Dana Holgorsen and Dylan Raiola will be licking their lips at the prospect of scheming up plays for Key on the outside with one-on-one coverage. The downfield threat this past season was a bone of contention for the Husker faithful and this addition will go a long way to help remedy the lack of explosive plays. Key was the 4th ranked wide receiver and the overall 10th-best player in the portal according to 247 Sports.

The transfer portal started slow for Matt Rhule’s men but the coaching addition has added some real dynamism to the recruiting of the portal.
