In-state Jackson Carpenter has seen enough from Matt Rhule’s second season to stay committed to the Huskers. Carpenter has electric speed and comes from Lincoln, so he will have seen the athletes Rhule loves to recruit up close and personally. He may not be a recruit on a national level with smaller schools showing interest but Rhule has built programs in the past around players like Carpenter.
Rhule loves to recruit on athletic ability as he feels he can develop players to run the best routes and play coverage but cannot teach real speed. Carpenter could end up anywhere on this Nebraska team as an athlete, but his actual position will reveal itself over time.
He is ranked 6th in Nebraska and 833rd nationally, according to 247.
